Many people where I live play and
enjoy dungeons and drgaons role
playing games, some have even tried
the live role playing games. In many
peoples view it is a game for children
who have an over imaganative streak. I
would like to show you what a typical
game involves.
At the moment my friends and I are in
the middle on an adventure with has
provided us with many magical items
and some other pokey stuff. I am
playing a Priest who is 7th level and
can cast many healing spells but
that`s about it.Tantalus is also
playing a Priest but he has only just
got to 7th level while I have been
there for a long time!
Lord Soth is playing a lawful good
Paladin who is having a large job at
the moment because everyone in the
party is evil. One of the
requirements of being a Paladin is
that you must destroy all evil. This
would be like me trying to out box
Frank Bruno. He has taken the more
sensible route of keeping his distance
from the rest of the party.
Jezzy has a really cool character, he
is palying an 8th level thief. While
on his adventuring he found a jug
which made poison. If the poison is
wiped onto his sword it will cause 15
or 20 extra points of damage.
Kiwi is the Dungeon Master and he is
being very genorous with us find
treasure and belongings.
The biggest problem in our party is
Elminster. He is playing a 9th level
Mage. He has the fireball spell which
would half kill everyone in the party.
Due to his power he gets the picking
of all items found and no-one has the
guts to argue with him.
This will soon end due to a lot of
colaboration between the rest of the
party. If we can all join together and
use our special powers then we would
be able to beat up this pokey bastard!
The Plan is this. First we get into a
big fight and wait for Elminster to
cast all of his powerful spell ( and
maybe take some damage !!).The rest of
the party would help in the fight but
we would make sure we still had some
spells left. As soon as the fight is
over we would form a circle around
Elminster`s character. This would
prevent any area effect spells he can
cast from harming more than one
character.
Each character would then attack his,
using anyway that they can. The thief
would use his backstabbing sword
coated with poison. Tantalus would
attempt to cast hold person at him.
If Elminster fails his saving throw
againt spell then he will be
paralysed. If this happens we would
be able to continuolsy stab him with
weapons. If the spell fails then he
would be unharmed.
I would cast call lightening. This
spell causes a bolt of lightening to
hit anywhere I want within a certain
area. Of course this would be aimed
at Elminster. The Paladin would use
his swords to attack direct. This
could have the extra benifit of
disturbing Elminster while casting a
spell.
Keeping this up for a few rounds
should end up with Elminster becoming
unconscious. As soon as this happens
he would forget all spell that he had
learnt and we could take all of he
possesions away from him. Either Tanty
or I could cast cure light wounds onto
him to bring him back to conscousness.
Then we can slowly and painfully
torture him and wind him up. This
should teach him a lesson.
